Can you tell which towels have been washed twice?

Two of the towels in the photos below have been washed once and two have been washed twice. Can you tell which ones are which?

I wash them with Vanish Napisan in a front loader on a cotton cycle in cold water. No softener. I dry them indoors on a clothes airer.

What am I doing wrong? Why do they end up looking so dry and yucky? Do your towels suffer from the same problem?

I know that drying them in a dryer fluffs them up, but we don't have one...
