Should we keep the internal doors looking special or not?

Thank you all for your feedback on my Should we match our built-in robe doors to the rest of the internal doors? post. The lovely KL suggested a possible alternative of going with flush doors in order to make the internal doors stand out and look more special. I am not yet sure about the other two bedrooms, but for bedroom 2, I have decided that in this room, there will be mirrors on some of the doors. I know, I know, I'm a drama queen :( ... The reason behind this is because the door in this room is so close to the built in and I've decided to go with sliding doors here, meaning that I can't add mirrors to the inside of the doors. And one day, this room might become my dressing room, so I am just planning for the future :)

So, there will be 4 doors on this built-in robe, the middle two will have mirrors (at the bottom of the post), and the two side ones won't. So, do we go with flush doors (for the two side doors) in order to make the internal doors (throughout the house) look more special, or do we match them?

Now for the details, the flush doors are a fair bit cheaper, which is great. However, they are a LOT lighter than the other doors, so not as solid. Just to demonstrate the weight difference, the flush ones, weight approx 16kg and the other ones weigh approx 40kg. (The mirror ones are even heaver).

So, what do you think?

Should we match our built-in robe doors to the rest of the internal doors?

All our internal doors upstairs are 2.1m high and our built in robes are 2.4m high. Should we use the same doors on our built ins that we used throughout the rest of the house (the 2.4m version of course)? Our ceilings are 2.7m high.
Below are the Corinthian doors we used throughout the house (2.4m downstairs and 2.1m high upstairs).

Do you think matching them would be too tacky?
Also, what about the height inconsistency between the built in (2.4m) and internal (2.1m) doors?

Built-in robes for our secondary bedrooms

Just like everything else in this house... I've been overthinking this built-in robes business... Our secondary bedrooms are all 5m x 3.5m and the built-in robes range between 2.3m and 3.5m.

We don't know how many kids we will have so these might be used as kids'/study/guest bedrooms. Should we just go with the cheapest fit out (hanging + some shelving) or invest a bit more? (I have no idea if our clothes will fit in our walk-in-robe so we might have to use one of these bedroom's buit-ins for our stuff as well).

If/when we have kids, I am thinking Bedroom 2 would be the nursery.

Also, my lovely Decorating Forum friend Sooty, suggested that we have a wardrobe just in the centre with shelving to each side. And use the shelves for storage of books/decorative items. I really like this idea but am affraid that it might create too much mess... I really hate dusting *shy* and with our generous room sizes we are thinking that we should be able to fit study desks as well shelving as it is. What would you do? Are you a lazy person who hates dusting?

Mirror or no mirrors on wardrobe doors?

What are your thoughts on mirrors on wardrobe/built-in's doors in kids'/guest bedrooms? Yay or nay?

Thank you all for your comments. I think I will need to weigh up the following:

Pros
  • Kids/guests will be able to check their outfits
  • Will make rooms apear brighter with light bouncing around
  • Will make rooms appear bigger (although with our 5m x 3.5m bedrooms I don't think this will be an issue)

Cons
  • People waking up in the morning/middle of the night and scaring themselves.
  • High maintenance (fingerprints & dust show easily)
  • Could they possibly make our 5m long rooms appear way too long (robes will be along the 3.5m long walls)
