Thick shelves and drop-down rectangle hanging rails?

So, Lisa Adams has been doing a lot of thick shelves and rectangle drop down type hanging rails. What are your thoughts?

Also, some of you may have noticed that I've changed the commenting system on my blog. This was to include the CommentLuv feature which allows you to have a link to their latest post displayed at the bottom of your comment. However, if it causes too much trouble to you guys I will roll back to the old system. So do let me know :)

Khloe Kardashian's closet

"Every week I have a day where I just focus on making sure that all my
clothes remain organized and color coordinated." Khloe

These boots are so special to me. They are probably about 10 years
old. My dad bought them for me when I was in high school. He picked
them out himself and surprised me for no reason at all. He said,
"These boots just screamed your name! So I had to get them for you!" Khloe

Does this look familiar? :)

Another "Million Dollar Closet"

Here is another closed created by Lisa Adams. This one belongs to Whitney Port. I must admit, I had never heard of her before so had to google her name *shy*

Shoes on shelves...

For those of you who keep shoes on shelves, do you wipe the soles of your shoes with a damp cloth and then dry before placing on the shelf?

Do you keep your everyday shoes on shelves as well, or just the special occasion ones?

Ugly, dirty clothes storage in our new walk in closet!!!

Mr B and I have an ANTONIUS dirty laundry storage system which in the past we've kept in the laundry. However, since our bedroom is now upstairs it would be way too much effort to go downstairs every time we needed to chuck something in this little thing. So we've been keeping it in our ensuite/walk through robe.

Now, you may or may not remember that we still haven't got our walk through robe fitted out (or even designed for that matter), but Mr B has asked me to incorporate this little storage unit into our walk through robe design. At first I thought "No way! It will throw out the symmetry/layout that I had in mind and looks ugly!". But now I am really considering incorporating it (on Mr B's side of course!) since it could easily be incorporated into the "long hanging" section...

But because we want easy access to it, it will need to be right next to the ensuite door, which is premium space, and I really wanted drawers there.... Ughhh.... compromises!

What do you think? Have I completely lost my mind or what? :)

Thank you Lanne for suggesting this wonderful system!!!

Walk in closet

Just when I thought I had my walk in robe design figured out (http://bisbuildingahouse.blogspot.com/2011/07/what-do-you-think-of-my-new-walk-in.html)I come across this photo!

I love the use of the lower space for hanging stuff and shelves on top!!!

What do you think?

Walk through closets / robes

I really want our walk through robe to be "sexy". Our walkway is not as wide as the one in the first photo below, and we are only putting in two downlights in there. There can't be a chandelier ... and due to the narrow walkway we can't really fit anything in between :(

Should we go for two different colours? Should we paint the "backing" a different colour?
What would yousuggest we do in order to make our walk through interesting? Our clothes are nowhere near as colourful and interesting as in the photos below :(

What do you think of my new walk in robe design?

We will be having the same type of drawers and drawer handles as the pic below, and a few bottom drawers will have glass inserts. The only difference is that my drawers won't have the grooves in the middle...

My lovely Decorating Forum friends suggested I group the hanging rails together and have the drawers closer to the bathroom, as below. What do you think? Do you prefer the new layout? I would love to hear your feedback and suggestions on how to  make it more practical and user friendly :)

This was the old layout:

These are the drawer handles I am thinking of using. Do you knwo what they are called or where I could purchase them from?

And once again, here is our slightly awkward bedroom, walk through, ensuite door layout:
