Variations in handle lengths... What do you think?

Our drawer widths vary between 45cm and 89cm. Due to the limitations in handle lengths, the gaps between the handles and ends of drawers vary between 4.3cm to 8.9cm :S
Is this acceptable?

There are two drawer lengths for which more than one length could possibly work. 2 a and b and 5 a and b. Which one do you think looks better? Version a or b?
