Stepping stone front path - grass or pebbles in between?

I love the look of stepping stone front paths and would like one in front of our house. Our path will be 1.6m wide to match the front doors, and only 4.6m long. On either side, there will be a 1.1m garden bed with a hedge on the outside and another plant on the inside...

I love the look of grass in between stepping stones, but have heard that small patches of grass in between stone/concrete don't cope very well. Also, there would be a fair bit of effort required in setting up the metal edging in between the grass and mulched garden beds on the outside of the path and there would have to be irrigation for the tiny bits of grass as well... Maybe this wouldn't be a big deal because the path is only 4.6m long. Hmmm

Or should we go with pebbles in between the stepping stones? It would be very low maintenance, but would trap dirt and wouldn't look as nice. Hmmm.

Or just lay a solid path in an exposed aggregate to match the driveway and path around the house?

Am I over analysing this? What would you do?

Landscaping and portico tiling decisions. Help!

Should we match the pathway to our exposed aggregate driveway or do something prettier? I am considering stepping stones or crazy pavers. I would love to hear your suggestions, as always.

Also, we still need to tile our portico. What we do there, should it match the front path? Or not really? I guess as long as they complement each other, right? I am thinking matte tiles, but am open to suggestions.

Look forward to reading your opinions :)

Stepping stone walkway and boxed hedges...

We are still waiting for our current crossover to be ripped up. Once it's redone we will get onto the exposed aggregate driveway and path around the front of the house... So I've still got time to finalise the pathway to the house ideas :)

The concerns I have with the stepping stone walkway (with grass in between the stones) combined with boxed hedges on the side are as follows:
  1. Since the soil under the boxed hedges needs to be "clean" and weed and grass free, will it be extremely difficult to maintain the "straight" grass line?
  2. Because the garage protrudes a bit in relation to the rest of the house, the boxed hedge on the RHS would have to be slightly shorter (pic 2 below). This would mean that the stepping stone pathway would need to end where the shorter hedge ends. Do you think this would look strange?

Please note: my drawing is not in proportion :(

Stepping stone walkway + boxed hedges on the side?

I've latelly been thinking about how much I love the look of grass in between paving blocks/rocks or whatever they are... I mentioned this to MrB once before and he didn't like the idea. Should I try again? Would this look nicer than an exposed aggregate path to match our driveway?

Would this work with the boxed hedges that I have planned for either side of the walkway? Probably not, hey? Because I don't want grass under the boxed hedges... Hmmmm :(
