How do you dress up an ensemble bed?

I've never had an ensemble bed and am unsure of the "proper" way to dress it up. We've got a king size quilt cover on our queen size bed and it fits perfectly... and I have a feeling that it will not be sufficient for the king size bed which is what we want to get next... Will we need a bedcover as well as a bed skirt in addition to the quilt cover?
