Window coverings - mixing and matching withing large open living areas

Do you think it is ok to mix and match window covering types withing a room? (eg our large open living space which has 3 windows and a sliding door).

Our house faces north which is where most of our large windows are (4 in total). Three of those are arched (so roller blinds are out of the question). For facade consistency I am thinking it would be most appropriate for all the front 4 windows to have curtains with sheers in front of them. This would also include the window in the formal lounge as per my previous post.

However, for the dining and meals room I am thinking of roller blinds with sheers in the front. What do you think?

No idea about the sliding door yet :S
